Bloom enews by Sandy's Back Porch Garden Center and Gifts

Dear "Bloom" friends -

The long awaited and much anticipated joy of seeing the first blooms of Spring is finally here! Spring is the re-birth of our garden giving us another year of pleasure (and perhaps, a small amount of frustration, too). It is a time of inspiration and excitement-more than any other season. The sounds of birds chirping, the smell of fresh cut grass or a new layer of mulch nourishes the soul for winter-weary gardeners.

In my own garden, I’ve been envisioning what my new “antique apple butter kettle” (thanks Philip!) will look like filled with red geraniums as it sits in between my chartreuse colored Adirondack chairs. I kept telling myself to put those chairs away this fall, but never quite got around to it. After some time, I decided I enjoyed looking at them, dreaming of sunny summer days surrounded by colorful annuals and perennials.

And now, as gardens everywhere are bursting with color to celebrate the closing of winter, so are we at the garden center. The greenhouses are brimming with color just waiting for the warm days of April. New arrivals of trees and shrubs have filled our lot with a selection sure to please. The garden shop has made its transformation from winter to spring and is full of fun garden inspired goodies. New shipments of pottery have arrived and the creative juices are just begging to fill them all with “fillers-spillers-and thrillers.”

Inspiration is dancing all around us here at Sandy’s-from the colors of the Japanese Maples showing of their vibrant new foliage to the tiniest white blooms of Diamond Frost Euphorbia, all are just waiting to dazzle you. We hope you can stop by just to take an early peek at what’s cooking for spring - you won’t be disappointed!

Happy Spring!

Sandy
