Dear Gardening Friends -

Hard to believe, but the holiday season is at our doorstep.  Cold temperatures and snow falling has put me in the holiday mood. Of course, this isn¹t always easy because Christmas isn¹t my favorite time of year. Being a passionate gardener puts spring at the top of my list.  So, when my 13 year old son asked me what is my favorite day of the year, it took a little thinking to answer.  The natural choice would be my birthday or mother¹s day, but instead I chose June 21-the Summer Solstice.  The look on his face was priceless.  How could anyone love an obscure day like June 21 over Christmas?   Evening is my favorite time to garden and this is the
longest day of the year, I explained.
 
Well, now as we prepare for the festivities while our gardens are sleeping, I wanted to let you know the Sandy's Back Porch Garden Shop is full of activity.
