Hard to believe but it’s TIME FOR BACK PORCH BUCKS to be redeemed! For all of you who have been holding on to your bucks anticipating July 1 st, I have some ideas that you might like to SPLURGE on with your bucks:
Rain Barrels-Collecting water has never been easier! Your plants will thrive when watered with the best that Mother Nature has to offer. Collect water in these elegant looking 65 gallon rain barrels by Algreen. Made of roto molded plastic that is able to withstand extreme temperature and will not chip, crack or fade. This barrel comes with a brass spigot, overflow valve, elbow fitting for the hose attachment and a 6 ft garden hose with shut-off.
We also carry a recycled 60 gallon shipping barrel. This barrel comes complete with overflow fitting, drain plug, screw on cover, and a threaded spigot that can positioned 14” above the ground or 4” above the ground to use with your garden hose. Easy, simple and fast installation. You can even link two or three barrels together with a short piece of ¾” garden hose or flex tube.
Compost Bins-Composting is a great way to add priceless nutrients into the soil for a healthier garden! Our compost bin is perfect for the urban gardener. In the tree/shrub department, we have some unusual specimens that cost a little more but are well worth it. You can plant now if you follow the watering guidelines of 6 minutes per foot of tree/shrub height (check out last weeks email) and definitely use Root Stimulator. The Vanderwolf’s Pyramidal Limber Pine is striking with its silver/blue-grey foliage. We also have many varieties of Japanese Maples including the ever-popular Crimson Queen (Please keep in mind that items sold at a discount do not carry a warranty).
The perennial line up includes several new varieties of coneflowers that are happily blooming now with Tomato Soup being a real favorite among the staff. Midnight Wine Bee Balm is doing it’s best to provide pollen for all our buzzing friends. Planted in your butterfly garden, it will also attract our winged friends, too.
